Keeping this in mind, a number of nations have closed their borders to visitors. Japan is the most recent addition to the list. Non-resident foreign nationals are no longer permitted to enter Japan, because of the detection of the highly infectious variant in the country.
Following an increase in cases in India and other South Asian nations, Japan has extended the quarantine time for visitors who have recently visited India and five other Southeast Asian nations. Amid mounting worries about the B.1.617 Covid19 variant, the Japanese authorities declared that persons who recently travelled to India must complete a 10-day mandatory quarantine period rather than the 6-day period previously required.
